Serper Tümer Self-Access Centre (SAC)

The Serper Tümer Self-Access Centre (SAC), operating under the School of Foreign Languages, primarily aims to support the English language learning processes of students in the Department of Basic English (DBE) by providing opportunities for independent study beyond the classroom.

The Centre offers a collection of English-language books and magazines at various proficiency levels, as well as reference books and supplementary learning materials designed to support language development. These resources cover a range of language areas, including grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing. The Centre also organizes activities to encourage and support students' engagement with English outside the classroom.

In addition to its physical resources, SAC provides access to digital learning materials and activities through its online platform. Supplementary materials and practice tests available on the platform enable users to work independently and develop their language skills in accordance with their individual learning needs and pace. In this respect, SAC offers a learning environment that encourages learner autonomy and helps users take greater responsibility for their own learning.

The online resources provided by SAC are available not only to METU students but also to participants enrolled in foreign language courses offered by the School of Foreign Languages. Students and course participants can access the resources on the platform using the login credentials and password assigned to them.

Further information about the Centre and the resources available through its online platform can be found at sac.metu.edu.tr.
